Privacy notice
Who is behind this. Casewright is built and maintained by an individual developer, not a company. There is no legal entity, no support organisation, and no service-level commitment. The software is provided as-is, you run it on infrastructure you control, and if the author stops working on it you keep the version you installed. Payments, if any, are handled by a third-party merchant of record — the author does not process or store card details.
Casewright is self-hosted: evidence, facts, and case data live on storage you operate. The product does not phone home with your case content. Optional AI assistance (off by default) sends only a delimited data payload to a provider you configure (BYOK) — never document contents — and every response is validated before it is saved.
Reading a document happens on the server that stores it: no network call, no model, no third party. One feature puts that text into a prompt — field extraction — and it refuses to run unless the endpoint you configured is inside your own network. Point the desk at a hosted provider and extraction stays disabled rather than sending your document out; the other assists continue to work, because they only ever see finding codes, counts and dates. That boundary is enforced in code, not left to configuration discipline.
An audit log records actions, prompt-template versions, and response hashes — never document contents or credentials. Telemetry, if any, is limited to operational health and configured by you.
This notice applies to the version of the software you installed.
